Taunton School is a co-educational independent school in the county town of Taunton in Somerset in South West England. It serves boarding and day-school pupils from the ages of 13 to 18.
The school campus also includes Taunton School International for overseas students; Taunton Preparatory School, serving boarding and day-school pupils aged 7 to 13; Taunton Pre-Prep School, serving day-school pupils aged 4 to 7, and Taunton Nursery, serving pupils aged 0 to 4.

Our Pre-Foundation Year is a one-year course, providing International students with the necessary skills and qualifications to access our International Foundation Year in year 2. The focus is very much on the world of Business and therefore, this course is ideal for those students who are thinking of studying any business-related subject at university, for example, Business Studies, Economics, Business Management, Accountancy, Financial Management
Studying within a traditional and well-established boarding school, students are able to fully focus on their studies, working with like-minded students from all over the world, in small groups, and are challenged to do their best, every step of the way
Students are based on our Taunton School International (TSI) campus (part of the whole school campus), which means all of our students enjoy numerous opportunities to integrate with the Senior School Sixth Form students, for example, in sport, music, art, drama, clubs, house competitions and weekend trips.

The NCUK International Foundation Year prepares international students for study in business-related disciplines at undergraduate level and offers an alternative pathway to University from the more traditional A Level or IB programmes.
Designed by universities exclusively for international students, the NCUK International Foundation Year combines academic modules, study skills and English language training to provide a pathway to undergraduate degree courses at leading universities in the UK and around the world.
Students study at Taunton School International and as the International Foundation Year is completed in just 10 months, it provides students with a fast-track route onto Business-related undergraduate courses.
Not only do students receive an outstanding education in Business Studies, Economics and Mathematics, they also learn how to think critically and use English for academic purposes and develop the necessary skills to become an autonomous learner, ready to take on the challenges of university life.

BTEC Sport and Exercise Science. Fee - £37,380 (Inclusive of annual boarding fee). Intake - Sep 2021.
Our BTEC Sport and Exercise Sciences Extended Diploma, equivalent to three A Levels, allows students to study sport across the board and focus on their preferred pathway, whilst opening up a huge range of opportunities in the sports industry. Three distinction* grades at BTEC are equivalent to three 9s at A Level and attract the same UCAS points. We also offer the opportunity to complete an A Level alongside either the Extended Diploma or Diploma programmes.

Students are continually assessed, using a range of methods and don’t need to excel at any particular sport, just have an interest that can be developed further.
The BTEC qualification we offer is a QCF level 3 qualification designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They give students the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for a variety of different potential pathways.
