This Accounting and Management degree is designed for students interested in accounting and management, who wish to study an integrated programme allowing them to gain career advantage and a competitive edge by acquiring expertise at a substantial level in both disciplines.
Our accounting degree examines a range of contemporary business challenges from an accounting and business management perspective, as well as exploring the relationship between accountancy and management, in order to determine a successful business in today’s challenging financial market.
This course is available with a sandwich year, to enable to students to gain a year of work experience alongside their studies.

The programme introduces you to the fundamentals both financial and management accounting and works towards specialist optional modules in the final year including auditing, forensic accounting and Islamic finance. You will also have hands-on access to the USW Trading Room. Here you can experience share-dealing and decision making incorporating theory and practice and learn by doing. Through the simulations you will experience the dynamic environment of real-time training and experience the complex strategies of buying and selling, understand volatile markets and the uncertainty of risk.
You can also gain the CIMA accredited Sage Accounting Certificate which will make you instantly more employable.
Students will learn through a mix of lectures, tutorials, workshops, innovative e-learning techniques and directed self-study. As well as our links with the ACCA you will benefit from regular presentations from guest lecturers representing many aspects of the profession.
Throughout the course you will get practical experience of the accounting, auditing and general software packages you will us after you graduate – giving you more skills to add to your CV.
